Introduction

When you first buy a computer, it seems so fast, so new. Over time, this feeling of newness fades or disappears. There could be many causes of this, but one major cause is the proliferation of startup programs. Certain programs want to start themselves at the same time the computer starts. There is nothing wrong with this in and of itself. However, when many programs try to start themselves at once, and when too many are running at once, this can cause major system slowdowns, since these programs take CPU power and memory that would otherwise be used by the programs you want to use. There are even many programs which install themselves against your will: programs such a viruses, worms, spyware, and other types. These programs may even damage your computer. You are probably unaware of most of the programs that load when you start your computer!

This is where NitroBOOT comes to the rescue! NitroBOOT can tell you which programs are good and which are bad. NitroBOOT also gives you the power to eliminate the bad programs, and NitroBOOT can even warn you when new programs add themselves to the list! The NitroBOOT interface is simple. All the program is contained in one window; you can see everything at once!

NitroBOOT is not free. You can use NitroBOOT for 30 days without paying anything. At the end of 30 days, if you have not paid, NitroBOOT will stop functioning. If you want it to start functioning again, you must buy it. You can pay at any point during the trial, and then the program will function without interuption. To buy NitroBOOT, please open the program and click the "Buy NitroBOOT now!" button. You will then be able to pay securely with your credit card, and the product will be delivered instantly and automatically. The program costs $9.99 (US Dollars), plus any taxes that may apply.

If you buy NitroBOOT, you will be entitled to free upgrades for the life of the product. If you have already bought NitroBOOT, you do not have to pay an upgrade fee for this new version.

How to use NitroBOOT

The first step is to open NitroBOOT. This can be done by clicking the Start Menu, then "Programs" or "All Programs", then by clicking the "NitroBOOT" folder, and then click the shortcut for "NitroBOOT". It is possible that NitroBOOT is already running. Check the icons next to the system clock (in the lower right-hand corner). If you see a large blue and green N, double click it, and NitroBOOT will open up.

When NitroBOOT opens, you will see a list of programs, probably with multiple colors. The programs are color coded, and the color coding is explained at the bottom of the program as well.
*A red program is a useless or even potentially dangerous program. Such programs should be disabled!
*A blue program is not dangerous, but if you don't use the program, it will only waste resources.
*A green program is good and should NOT be disabled. Examples include antivirus programs
*A black program is a program that NitroBOOT has no futher information about.

If the program has a black check mark to the left of it, that means the program is enabled and will start when the computer starts. If the program has an empty box instead of a check mark, that means the program is disabled and will not start. If the program has a grey check mark, that means that NitroBOOT will either confirm or delay the launch of the program.

You can do various things with each program. You can:
Disable a program. If you don't want the program to run anymore, double-click the checkbox to the left of the program. The checkmark will disappear and the program is disabled.
Re-enable a program. If you have disabled a program and want it to start again, double-click the empty box to the left of the program. The box will then show a check-mark and the program will be reenabled.
Confirm the startup of a program. There are some programs that should be automatically started some times, but not other times. NitroBOOT can help you manage this situation. NitroBOOT can ask you, when the computer starts, if you want to load the selected program. To use this feature, double-click the empty box next to the program in the "Confirm startup" column. You will then see a checkmark. To disable this feature, simply double-click the appropriate box in the "Confirm startup" column.
Delay the startup of a program. One big slow down when you first start a computer is the fact that many programs all launch at the same time, thus making the computer unusable, as they all fight for memory and CPU power. NitroBOOT can also manage this situation by delaying the startup of a program. This makes the program simply start later, at a number of seconds given by you, up to 240 seconds (6 minutes). To use this feature, double-click the appropriate entry in the "Startup delay" column. You will then see a screen when you can select the number of seconds. Pick the number that you want. Entering 0 seconds will disable this feature.
That is how to use NitroBOOT. NitroBOOT also has a few other features which help keep your computer in top shape:
"Warn me when a new program adds itself to the list". Sometimes programs will add themselves to the list secretly, and even against your wishes. NitroBOOT will give you a warning messages telling you when a program has added itself, and give you the name of the program. You are then free to disable the program, delay the program, confirm the program's launch or leave it alone as you wish.
"Prevent deactivated programs from activating themselves again". You may disable a program, but the program may try to reenable itself. If you have this option enabled, NitroBOOT will stop a program from reenabling itself.
"Minimize NitroBOOT instead of closing it". If you want the previous two features to work, NitroBOOT must be running (NitroBOOT can't monitor the computer if it's not open!). This option will minimize NitroBOOT instead of closing it when you click the "X" to close the program. If you really want to close NitroBOOT, you can then right-click the "N" icon next to the clock, and select "Close".

"Delete selected entry". If you want to remove an entry from the list, you can select the entry and click this button. This will not only disable the program, but the program will be removed from the list and the program cannot be reenabled.

That's all you need to use NitroBOOT! We hope that you enjoy the program and that it makes your computer run faster.
